Responsive overhead line structures aims to create infrastructure that feels at home in areas of outstanding natural beauty. Whilst the value of practicality in the current design of electric infrastructure is understood, there is great potential to be expressive and awe-inspiring as well as economical and practical.
This design proposes the integration of modern insulative materials to create an elegant tapering mast. The materiality of these masts varies in response to the particulars of the context and predicted exposure to the elements. Stainless steel, corten steel or painted steel can be used dependent on context.
